Kit Instructions
This page contains all structure kit instructions in one place. If the kit that you need instructions for is not listed, please contact us by email and we will send you a copy.
Instruction files that have [ORIGINAL] in the title are for the original versions of the kit. As the kits get revised and updated, we will post updated versions of instructions for those kits. ORIGINAL versions of the instructions will always be available since kits that were purchased long ago do not always get built right away. However, ORIGINAL instructions will not be revised on an ongoing basis. Kits that have been modified and revised will get new instructions that will get updated as necessary.
RailroadKits is located in Bethel Park, PA and is no longer located in Holden MA. Some instruction files may still show the Holden address.
Double check any color codes for stripwood! Some of our kits were made by other manufacturers that had their own color codes.
Why we do not include printed instructions for our kits:
- Printing costs money and resources. Eliminating printing costs lets us keep the price of the kit lower.
- Printed instructions take up space. For some smaller kits, the instructions would be the largest component in the kit. A smaller box means lower material and shipping costs.
- A printed image from a consumer/prosumer laser printer does not look as good as a high-resolution image viewed on today's computer screens and handheld devices.
- An online image can be zoomed in and enlarged to show great detail.
- Online instructions can be edited in real time. Printed instructions can't be revised once we put them into a box.
- We can make our instructions as long as we want. We can make the instructions more detailed, contain more images, and not have constraints on page count. More printed pages would result in higher costs.
